Now, RIT MyCourses portal lacks an intuitive and user-centered interface, making it difficult for students to efficiently access materials, manage coursework, and communicate with faculty or classmates. This inefficiency impacts student engagement and overall learning success, highlighting the need for a more streamlined, accessible, and engaging digital experience.
Challenge :
Balancing the needs of students in the redesign.
Ensuring easy access to a variety of academic content.
Improving the clarity of scheduling for better time management.
Enhancing communication between students and faculty.
Streamlining the assignment tracking and submission process.
Meeting the requirements of multiple stakeholders while keeping the design simple and user-friendly.
Solution :
Base design decisions on user feedback to prioritize and highlight areas that need improvement.
Simplify access to course materials by organizing content in a clear, intuitive layout.
Implement a more visually distinct and organized schedule to improve time management.
Introduce features that facilitate direct communication between students and faculty, such as messaging and appointment scheduling tools.
The assignment tracking & submission process with clear deadlines, reminders, and a simple submission interface.
